The objective of this assessment is to assess your knowledge and skills as would be required to contribute to assisting with aspects of risk management in a project including planning for, controlling and reviewing risks associated with the project. 
This is a project-based assessment and will be assessing you on your knowledge and performance of the unit.
This assessment is in three parts:
1.Assist and contribute to project risk management.
2.Assist with risk assessment and planning.
3.Perform risk control activities.

On completion of this assessment, you are required to submit each part to the Moodle.
You must keep a copy of all electronic and hardcopy assessments submitted to TAFE and complete the assessment declaration when submitting the assessment.
Part 1 Assist and contribute to project risk management
You will participate in group work in Part 2 or Part 3 in the workshop and/or in the connected class on MS Teams, as advised by your teacher. In your group interactive activities you will be observed by your teacher/assessor. You must demonstrate:
1.Participation in a range of verbal exchanges using clear language and non-verbal features to provide relevant information.
2.Using active listening and questioning techniques to elicit views and opinions of others.
3.Selecting appropriate communication protocols in a range of work contexts.
4.Collaborating and cooperating with others to achieve shared goals.
Part 2 Assist with risk analysis and planning
Task 1 Identify and assess risks
The objective of the assessment task is to contribute to and assist others in identifying and prioritising potential risks throughout a project life cycle, using established risk-analysis methods, techniques and tools.
1.Identify a project to base Part 2 on. This could be your own project you initiated in BSBPMG409, another student’s project or Joe and Sarah’s wedding case study project.
Use a risk management technique such as brainstorming, consultation, research or document analysis to identify potential risks to the project at different stages of the project’s life. Document your findings in Table 2.
Task 2 Risk management strategies
In this task you will contribute to developing risk management strategies and risk management plans according to established guidelines.
1.Analyse the top four risks and document your risk analysis in Appendix A – Risk Register, using the Risk Matrix (Figure 1) to assess and prioritise the risks. Ensure your Risk Register can be used to report risks and uses structure and vocabulary appropriate to audience, context and purpose.
2.Review risk treatment options (avoidance/elimination, reduction/minimisation, retention or transfer) and document your risk management strategies.
3.Contribute to developing a risk management plan for your identified risks according to established guidelines using Risk Treatment Plan. In your plan you will sequences and schedule required tasks and activities and manages relevant communication.
4.Develop a simple procedure or form that that project members can use to report risk for this project.
Part 3 Perform risk control activities
Wedding project: Cousin Joe getting married with Sarah by 31/12
For the Wedding project you will contribute to reviewing contingency plans on an ongoing basis.
Your project clients, Joe and Sarah, have once again changed their plans.  They now want an outdoor wedding.
1.Identify at least four risks associated with an outdoor wedding.
2.Write a contingency plan in Appendix D – Contingency Plan for one risk scenario such as rain, wind or heat. Example plans are located on the Moodle.
