Liberal govt in South Australia made an election commitment to increase investment on sand replenishment to protect SA beaches and its coastal environment. As part of this commitment, Department for Environment and Water South Australia has initiated sand carting from Semaphore beaches for replenishment on West beach and Henley beach. In the near future Govt is planning to invest $48 million in a sand pipeline project as a more permanent solution.
