What career do you imagine for yourself after you finish college, or what would your ideal career be after you graduate?

This is a two-part assignment that can be submitted all together in one document.
***PART 1: Job Application Packet***
Step 1:
First, find a job description or advertisement for a position that interests you. This should be a REAL JOB advertised on a companys website or through employment websites like Monster.com or Indeed.com. You might choose a job youre qualified for now, or you might choose an internship or apprenticeship program to pursue in a year or so. [NOTE: if you prepare your documents for a position you want in the future, BE SURE to date your letter for that time.] Dont forget to SAVE a copy of the job description.
Read the ad carefully so you understand the rhetorical situation . Whos your primary audience? What does this employer want? Can you show you are the best candidate for this job? Will you need references?
Step 2:
Prepare a rsum that outlines your education, experience, and other qualifications. Your rsum should be tailored to this position, demonstrating why your combination of skills make you the best candidate. Dont include information that isnt relevant for the position.
Step 3:
Prepare a cover letter (or letter of application) addressed to an appropriate point of contact. Your letter should follow standard formatting guidelines, avoid errors in grammar and mechanics, and adopt an appropriate tone. Show convincing proof of your qualifications and tailor your experience to the job.
As you revise your job application packet, ask yourself:
Have I provided convincing proof of my experience and qualifications?
Have I tailored my experience and qualifications to this position?
Is it clear why Im the best candidate? Do I show interest in the position?
Do I fall into or stiff, overly formal language or language that inappropriate slang/informal language?
Have I addressed any red flags in my rsum, like gaps in employment?
